In brief
Looking for this Serie A season's up-to-date player statistics? We deliberately don't show fixed figures here, since they're out of date again after a single matchday. For the latest state of play, head to our live page below.
Which statistics are tracked?
For every Serie A match, player statistics are tracked: goals, assists, yellow and red cards, and clean sheets for goalkeepers and defenders. These figures give a good picture of a player's form over the past few matchdays, independent of the final result of any single match.
The top scorer title (Capocannoniere) is the best-known individual race in the league, but the assist charts and the card statistics are also closely followed, especially for players who are close to a suspension.

The role of statistics in sports betting
Player statistics provide context for a match. A forward in form, a defence that has kept a clean sheet for weeks, or a midfielder close to a suspension: all of these elements can influence how a match unfolds. That assessment can be relevant when looking at the betting markets, from the classic 1X2 to specific goals markets.
No statistic guarantees an outcome. Form can turn quickly, and an injury or suspension to a key player can change the balance of power at any moment. Every bet remains a game of chance with a real risk of loss.
