Silvio Piola scored his 274 goals across 537 matches for five clubs: most of all at Lazio (143 goals), and also at Pro Vercelli, Novara, Juventus and Torino. At Pro Vercelli and Novara, he remains the all-time club top scorer; at Lazio, Ciro Immobile took over that honour in March 2022, after almost eighty years. Remarkably, Piola himself never won the Serie A title: he finished runner-up in the league three times. His overall record of 274 goals still stands, though, and is widely considered one of the hardest records to break in European football.
Francesco Totti built his total of 250 goals entirely at AS Roma, where he played his whole career. Gunnar Nordahl, meanwhile, combined an impressively high scoring rate with a relatively short career in Italy.

Betting on this season's top scorer
Alongside the historical honours list, you can also bet on who becomes this season's Serie A top scorer (Capocannoniere). That market can be found among the outright (season-long) bets on Serie A. Please note: sports betting in Belgium is only permitted for people aged 21 and over. A historical record from the past says nothing about the outcome of the ongoing season; every bet remains a game of chance with a real risk of loss.
